The 3-finger swipe up is one way. A much faster way especially if you are closing a number of apps is to find the first app next to the Home area, swipe up or down with one finger so Voiceover will say "Close" followed by the app name. Now double tap to close the app. This is like the action rotor in mail or messages, a single finger swipe up or down toggles between "Close" and "Activate". The nice thing is that the rotor stays on Close so as each app disappears, the next one slides over into that spot and you can just continue to double tap to remove apps. Even faster is to flick the rotor to Close, then put your finger roughly in the middle of the screen to touch the app to the right of Home, then hold your finger on the screen and split tap. With each split tap you are removing an app and the next one will slide in under your finger. You can split tap quite fast and close all your apps very rapidly. One thing to keep in mind is that if you accidently touch the Home image then your rotor resets itself to the default which is Activate item. This means if you touch Home and then swipe to or touch another app and double tap it, you will switch to that app.
Lastly, instead of a 3-finger swipe up you can also perform the pass-through gesture which is a double tap and hold. Then without releasing the screen do a swipe up with 1 finger to close the app you are on. This basically mimicks how a sighted person closes apps by touching and swiping up with one finger. Flick right for each app that's opened for VO to announce it, use a 3 finger flick up to close it. HTH Regards, Alan I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. I know I used to delete that app in the app switcher with this method For some reason now when I go to the app switcher and do a single finger flick up nothing happens. Any other suggestions or I am I doing something wrong?
