I personally prefer more control over this and I guess since I don't use gmail Slyce is not an option for me anyways. I quite like Delivery Status Touch and find it quite easy to open a tracking email in the mail app, copy the tracking number to my clipboard and then as soon as I open Delivvery Status Touch the app tells me that it found a UPS, Fed Ex or whatever tracking number on the clipboard and I can just tap OK to create a new tracking entry. The app is very good about knowing which company the tracking number belongs to and automatically selects the carrier and the tracking number is pasted in, all you have to do is add an optional package title and tap Save.
There are some issues with push notifications not coming through at times, I contacted the developer and they told me they were working on that and actually yesterday I got push notifications for 2 packages I entered no problem. I think these tracking apps are somewhat like recording or note taking apps, there are a number of them and they all work and it's up to each person to pick one they like. I have tried Posted, Parcel, Delivery Status Touch and Shiprack and at this point prefer Delivery Status Touch followed by Parcel and Posted. What kinds of policies or practices does Slyce use to ensure your privacy and safety? Also, does the Slyce app send you push notifications or alerts about the status of the package? Maybe I can open an email account and use it only to forward emails that I want Slyce to see. Hmmmm Thanks, Christina Sent from Christina's iMac :) On May 8, 2014, at 10:39 AM, Raul A. I extract the shipping carier number and paste it into an email and forward it to the packa...@ship-rack.com <mailto:packa...@ship-rack.com> <mailto:packa...@ship-rack.com>. Hi again, Alan, OK, should have done this before since I did it for the other 3 apps I mentioned. I just looked up the app description for Shiprack again and I found the following in their listing of supported carriers: Regional and specialized ones: A1 International, Ensenda, LaserShip, OnTrac, Prestige, and Purolator. According to this you should be able to track Lasership deliveries just fine. I know that at least three or four different apps for tracking packages have been mentioned here. I have been using the Shiprack app which I've found to be accessible, free, and easy to use since you simply forward the shipped package email from the vendor to get the package to be tracked into the Shiprack system. The last couple of items I've ordered from Amazon have been shipped using an outfit called LASERSHIP which is at the following website: http://lasership.com/index.php I've noticed that the Amazon packages shipped using LASERSHIP can't be tracked using Shiprack and I'm wondering if anyone using one of the other package tracking apps has successfully tracked a package delivered by LASERSHIP with it. If so, could you share the name of the app and your opinion of it? I don't mind paying a couple of bucks for a package tracking app provided it's accessible and supports the carriers delivering my packages. Thanks in advance.
