Hello Geoff,

The existing functionality of the current version of 1 Password
accessibility will depend upon your level of vision, at first, that is.
Once you learn how things works, you can use the app with or without vision,
via VoiceOver. For example, in several of the edit fields, when you're
actually successfully entering either characters or digits, as each one is
entered, you keep hearing the bonk that is associated with an error or
unsuccessful attempt. So, unless you can see the text being entered, or a
sighted person confirms the entry, or you are aware of the bug and touch the
edit field and hear VoiceOver read the successfully entered text back to
you, one would think they failed to enter text into the field.

Also, don't forget to thoroughly examine the Settings area of the app.

Please keep these things in mind as you explore the app.

As for VoiceOver accessibility of the Windows and Mac versions, I have no
idea as, up to this point anyway, I am only using the iOS version.

Hope To See You On The Beta Team,

Mark

Subject: Re: For Those Who May Wish To Beta Test The 1 Password Management
App

Well, I just purchased the thing and am now having doubts about how useful
it will be.

I'll play with it a little more and reserve judgment until I've read a
little and spent some time getting accustomed to it. In a few days, I'll
probably definitely want to beta test if my current experience is any
barometer of future satisfaction. I'll either be a huge fan or complain
vociferously. Let's see how it goes. I've purchased it for the OS X and
IOS. Don't know what I'm going to do about Windows.

Hello All,

I'm just throwing this out in case there is anyone who would like to serve
as a VoiceOver-accessibility beta tester for the 1 Password management app.
A couple of things to keep in mind before I provide the link to the Beta
test sign-up page.

1.
If you are currently using the previously completely VoiceOver accessible
version of 1 Password, which would have been last updated back in 2012 and
has a version number similar to 3.7.x, it is not necessary to first remove
this version before installing the latest version which is 4.5.1. I want to
make this perfectly clear, in this instance, you can have both the previous
old (non-WiFi syncing) edition of 1 Password, and the current
(WiFi-capable), edition of 1 Password installed on your iOS device at the
same time. There is no special trick to this. The reason this is possible
is because the two versions are so vastly different that they have separate
program identification numbers. The only confusing thing to a VoiceOver
user is that both program iCon labels will be read as "1 Password".
Further, when the old version detects that you have the newer version
installed, it will ask if you would like to import your existing data into
the new program. This does not remove it from the old version, however.
The cost of 1 Password version 4.5.1 is approximately 17.99 USD.

2.
While version 4.5.1 is not as VoiceOver accessible as earlier editions,
there is just enough VoiceOver accessibility currently available so that
VoiceOver users can make very effective testers. Remember, part of the goal
in being a tester is to make sure that VoiceOver accessibility is not
overlooked in future releases.

3.
Before you can sign-up for the beta, you must create a discussion forum user
account at:
http://discussions.agilebits.com
Registering for an account requires that you type in the digits from a
CAPTCHA.

4.
Once on the beta application sign-up page, you may choose to test other
versions of 1 Password including the Windows, Mac, and android editions.

Okay, I think that about covers it.

Happy Testing,
