I finally know how to get it. we have to go to the"more" tab. then double tab the "feeds" heading. then you will find the "most recent" news feeds.

And if you click on friends the list is no longer in ABC order. The m.facebook.com website has also gotten rid of the sort feature for the newsfeed. I recall there being a news article on CNN within the past couple of weeks, which it was reported that in the next 2 months facebook is going to be going through a lot of changes.
