Hi Shawn, If your friend is looking for the kind of functionality Type 2 Phone provides, then why not just get a Bluetooth keyboard for use with the iPhone? Type 2 Phone more or less allows you to send text you type on your Mac over to the iPhone so it's easier if you are at home to send text messages or emails from your iPhone. You can also use it with the Apple TV, but since you can now pair a Bluetooth keyboard with the Apple TV this once again becomes less interesting.
In any case, there is a nice little app which I do find useful sometimes if I am doing email on my PC and maybe I want to have a tracking number available in the clipboard on my iPhone so I can paste it into my tracking app. The app is called ZeroTap, see link below. This works via a web app on the PC, you simply go to http://www.orru.org/zerotap/magicbox.php on the PC, log in with a user name and password you have to set up and then you can type any text into the "magic box" on the PC. When You are done open the ZeroTap app on your iPhone and the text you just typed on the PC is there. You can then use the Copy to Clipboard button to copy said text to your iOS clipboard or you can also send the text straight to a text message, an email or Twitter as soon as you open the ZeroTap app on your iPhone. To do that type the text on the PC and then in the combo drop down box specify SMS, Mail or Twitter. Here is the ZeroTap link, it is a free app and while it hasn't been updated for 4 years it works just fine: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zerotap/id354136937?mt=8 This is one of these apps that are useful to have and which just seems to work even though there have been several major iOS version releases since it came out. Who knows, it could be one of these apps which might just not be there some day but which continues to work for those who have it. Hey guys. Don't know if this is off-topic or not. If so, then forgive me. A friend of mine wants to know if there's something on the PC that will allow him to control his iPhone. I know there's a such app for the Mac that would allow the user to do just that called Type 2 Phone, but since I never use my iPhone in the Windows environment, I figured I'd ask someone who is using their's with Windows. Again, if this is off topic, I apologize. Thanks. Shawn Sent From My White MacBook -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
