I do not use a QWERTY keyboard with my iPhone, so I do not know the answer.
When QuickNav is not active, what is the command to turn the rotor using a QWERTY keyboard. My friend tried control+option+up-arrow+left-arrow, and control+option+up-arrow+right-arrow, and reported these combinations do not work.
