Hi, To my understanding the app has to be open and running to start recording. I read the app cannot run in background if device is running low on memory. I am pretty sure you cannot listen to an other app with audio or even answer a call without stopping the recording.
The developer is very quick to respond so, if you want, write him and maybe he'll update it to make it run more efficiently in the background. My problem with these recordings is that I found it impossible to rename them. It used to work but, according to the developer, since iOS 7 there's a bug preventing this. That's all I know about this.
