But some of the status updates are in English. Voice over just reads them strangely because if I go on my computer and look, all is normal. That's what I don't understand. This must be a new feature because it wasn't like this in previous versions.

The automatic language switching is by design and is part of VoiceOver.
If you use the default language of your choosing and there is text
written in a different language VoiceOver will automatically switch to
that language. You cannot turn this on or off I'm afraid.

Finally, I discovered last night you can’t log out of the app. I am thinking this is a facebook glitch but not sure.
