I am going to try your suggestion. It took a while to find, though. For the
information of anyone who also wants to give this app a try, it is called
"Cake The Reader." That should make your search much quicker.

Hi all,
Follow on from this thread, I'd like to suggest an app that I'd found, but
also hear people's experiences with the other apps mentioned in the below
post.
It's called "cake reader" and it is a simple facebook app that has the
timeline in it. You can like posts, comment on posts. one bug is that when
you post, some times it just sits there even though it's posted. You just
cancel out of it and you can continue reading your timeline. 
I'd tried facely hd, but it kept jumping all the time, and it seems rather
slow on my 4s.
