You might be able to do this with Text Sync as well. In the app there is
a text field. I presume you could write something in there. Then there
is a paste button which seems to be always available. So maybe this is
to transfer the entered text to the Windows computer. Or it could just
behave like a regular paste function. Just some observations from an
early adopter.

I'll add to Sieghard's comments that ZeroTap also lets you copy info in the
other direction from the phone back to the computer. I don't use this
feature as often but occasionally have wanted something that I got from an
app to put in a message I was composing on my computer and ZeroTap made it
easy to upload the data.

Hi Joseph,
Justt for your information, ZeroTap has been mentioned on the list several
times and it does the same thing except that with ZeroTap you can also send
text you type on the computer directly to the Messages app, to email or
Twitter.
ZeroTap hasn't been updated in 4 years, but it's one of these little apps
which does one very limited thing and it just works. It is a free app with
no ads. Here is the link:

Subject: TextSync - Send text from a Windows computer to your iOS device
Hi all,
I just installed a great little iOS productivity app called TextSync. This
app allows you to type whatever you want on your Windows computer and have
the text instantly show on your iDevice. You can send text from your iPod or
iPhone with or without your iDevice being attached to your computer and you
do not need iTunes running.
Here's how you use this app. You type in a url into the Run dialogue of your
Windows computer (you only have to do this once and save the path as a
shortcut on your desktop etc). You are then presented with a very simple and
easy to use screen with a single edit field. You type in your message into
the edit field then down arro to a send button, and your text will
instantaneously show on the TextSync app on your iOS device. You can now use
the "Copy" button in the TextSync app to copy the text to the iOS clipboard
and move the text into any other app. I launched Internet Explorer on my
Windows desktop computer and copied a Wikipedia article with 137,000
characters and pasted in the desktop version of the TextSync edit field, and
it took only a couple of seconds for the text to be copied to my iPod--it is
definitely a fast little app.
Again, it is important to Note that your iDevice does not have to be
physically connected to your desktop at all. <Nice!>.
Since I want to be able to fill my iPod with very important private
information, I contacted the app developer to inquire about the security of
his app. Here is his reply/explanation:
"Hello,
The security is ensured by P2P direct link via IP, thus there is no chance
to perform a mid-person attack (which happens when you attempt to connect to
a server by entering domain name, which need DNS servers to resolve the IP
address).
The direct link need no DNS server, and all your data stream remains on the
local network, not over the Internet.
You can rely on the Wi-Fi connection."
Here is the link where you can read up on this app including a very good
audio podcast on how to use this app.

Oh yeah, though this app is $3 I'm using the free version, after the initial
ad when starting the app, the additional very small ads at the bottom of the
screen don't interfere with the use of this app at all. For $3, this is a
great buy and sure to be one of my most used apps when I make the purchase.
