If nothing else works, restoring the phone to factory settings maybe?

In my job, I could really use the sound part of the reminder notification to
place calls, etc. Otherwise, the reminder app does me no good.
Oh yes; I do not receive sound notifications for the calendar event, either.
And yes, my I Phone has been turned up side down and checked 6 ways from
Sunday for some quirky setting that might not be on or some other issue. Not
done by just me but, by an instructor of I Phones. We are both flummoxed.
Can anyone help?
