I'm looking to do the same thing. I only wanna get certain notifications for certain users.
What's the best way to go about this?

  HI guys
I've been very curious as to how many have on your IPhone, the Twitter
notifications active for certain users? Let me explain: IN the default
Twitter app, when you go into a user's profile, under Actions, you can
select if you want for the notification to activate/deactivate? I've got
my phone set up this way especially for news tweets since I guess I'm
one of those weird folks who always likes to be abreast of news, before
anyone else knows that an event occurs! I ask this because when I have
it in this way, my 3GS phone's battery lasts from two and a half to
three hours or so, thus wonder if I were to buy an external battery
pack, would it increase battery life? thus by how mucho? That's mainly
why I'm in the market for a battery pack, but those to which you plug in
the end to the IPhone for it to charge. I could always disable in
Twitter that the news users won't send, and that's how I do it I use the
service, then after several weeks disable, and reenable it again because
I just can't be without news! and I'd like to get everything out of the
phone!
Thanks for ideas!
