Hi Donald, I am not sure why you couldn't set up the contact as you said with the number, a comma, the access code and the pound symbol. Maybe try just the number, a comma and the access code and leave out the pound key, you could always dial it manually and chances are it may work anyways if you wait long enough after the access code.
If this doesn't work then there is no other work-around I know of except for practice. I completely agree that touch dialing is the way to go. You might want to consider getting one of the tactile screen protectors from Speed Dots or AT Guys. Alternatively you could ask somebody to make you a template out of cardboard which covers the entire screen and which only has holes for the numeric keypad. I used to have a credit card terminal at my business which had a touch screen where we had to enter the amount of the sale and I had one of my staff make me such a template and it allowed me to use the terminal. Roberts Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2014 7:13 AM To: Viphone Subject: Dialing phone numbers on iPhone Last night, I had occasion to dial a phone number to one of those conference call centers which required dialing a six-digit number after the auto answer message. After the six-digit pass code, I needed to enter the number sign. I am certain that most persons can dial much faster on the iPhone than I, but I found absolutely no way to dial the pass code before being timed out. I then resorted to making a contact containing the ten-digit phone number, 6 commas, and then the six-digit pass code followed by the number sign. Siri refused to dial that contact number stating something like "sorry, I can't dial that number." Previously, I had dictated that same series of numbers to siri, which she also declined to dial. Someone will likely tell me, and correctly so, that touch typing would be faster. Nevertheless, I still can't dial it fast enough. Is there any work around? Thanks.
