Hello, Just an add on to various compass solutions. While in my blindness training, I was taught to use the sun (if present). This won't work well if on a cloudy or rainy day. The other solution is to purchase a braille or talking compass. I do have one, but I am well-aware of which streets in my local area are north/south and east/west. I do carry my braille compass on me at all times though. HTH.

Blind Square is not designed to be in your pocket. The top of the phone needs to be pointed in the direction you are walking for best results. Your current location is GPS, and your point of interest is GPS, but there is no way to give you a direction relative to the clock unless your getting a valid compass reading. This is why keeping it in your pocket is prone to errors. Just think about it. If you stand still, and rotate your phone in a circle, you will get different values for your target. It will walk around the clock as you turn you phone. So, if you rely on that feature, you must point your phone in the direction your facing. All you pocket people are prone to all sorts of errors in this case. Eileen's solution to have it report ordinal compass values is possible with just two GPS coordinates, but it's up to you to know what direction your are facing on the compass. Sometimes, GPS apps can extrapolate a direction based on your walking progress, but again, this is less accurate than a direct compass reading. I won't go into the math here. Regardless, I think Blind Square doesn't support this calculation. Best. --k Faith doesn't give you the answers, it merely stops you from asking the questions.
