All you need to do is turn the whole thing over and put it on the other way. There is no way to turn it once you have it on your arm though.

It does muffle the voice a bit. You should have the phone face down for best sound. I have talked to many while it was in the case, and even my friend with quite a hearing deficit had no problem understanding me. I bought the belt clip and armband with it, so it added up to quite an investment. I only put it in that case if I'm going out on the water. For every day, I use a minimal clear TPU case.
