I would like to offer a slightly different description as Isaac since I don't agree with his statement that the headphone jack on the 5S is "on the back". To me the back of the phone is opposite of the touch screen and thatis not where the headphone jack is. It is located on the bottom of the phone in the bottom left corner if you are facing the touch screen. To make it even clearer this is to the left of where you plug in your Lightning cable to charge your phone once again it is to the left if you are facing the touch screen or if you tilt the phone so you are looking at the bottom. Your Lightning connector is in the middle, to the right is your speaker opening, to the left is first your microphone opening (both are not holes, but sort of perforated grills) and on the very left bottom edge is the round hole for the headphones, it's quite easy to feel it right next to the rounded corner.
