Hi, This does work for me, but the first time you use it you do have to sign in with your Apple Id password just as you have to enter your passcode after rebooting the phone. Voiceover should even announce something to that end when you buy something from the app store. Also, if you do reboot and buy something again you will have to enter your password again once, then for subsequent purchases touch Id should work.
