Dear listers

I was approached by a company who are creating a facial recognition app for
Glass and who are able to provide loan pairs of Glass running their beta
software over the next couple of months. They are in the UK and would prefer UK
blind or VI users to help, but would consider further afield too if needs be.
If you are interested please reply to me off-list and I’ll put you in touch
with them. Here is the blurb they have provided about the project:

‘iCanSee’ is a face recognition app for Google Glass that notifies a user when
an individual from a user's database appears in the visual range of the camera.
This could be particularly useful for people attending meetings at work (to
know who is in the meeting), going for a networking event, party or even
recognizing their friends and loved ones on the street etc.

We are looking for a group of potential early adopters of this technology, who
are visually impaired or blind who would be interested to take part in
consultations about the feasibility of this product, features they would like
or even potentially participating in trials - testing the prototype version of
this app for a period of time.

Thanks – Robin.
