Yes, I need to chime in here with a sincere "Thank You" since Joseph did answer my initial question with such aplomb!

Hi Joseph;

Thank you for such a intuitive tutorial.
I'm sure the rest of the group would AGGREE that it is outstanding.

Hi Bill,

I'm not exactly sure of the type of information you are requesting, but if
you want access to a file created by an app on your iOS device, or if you
want to save iOS files to your desktop, try this...

1. Attach iDevice to computer.

2. Launch iTunes if it is not automatically opened.

3. Using your tab key, work your way over to the "sources" tree view then
navigate to and highlight your iOS device by using down arrow keys.

4. Once your iOS device has been highlighted, tab to the "Apps" radio button
tab. Press the spacebar to check it. Wait about 30 seconds for iTunes to
gather related information.

5. Press Shift+F6 about 7 times or until you reach the "Apps tree view."
This is a list containing all the apps which you can use to move files to
and from your desktop and iOS device.

6. You can now select an app for which you want to either add files from
your computer, or save files from your iOS device to your computer. You
select an app by using your up or down arrow keys. Keep in mind that this
step merely selects the app of interest.

7. Once you have selected your app of interest, simply tab once to access
the list of files associated with the app. For example, if you selected the
Numbers app in the previous step, this step will show you all of the files
associated with Numbers. You need only press down arrow to select a file.

8. After having selected a file, to move the file to your desktop press the
tab key until you find the following item then press enter:
Save to...

9. Type in a path such as "c:\iOSTransfers\" and press enter.

10. The file will be saved to your desktop's hard drive in the folder you
selected.

11. If you want to reverse the process and take a file from your desktop and move it into your iOS device, simply follow the previous steps 1 through 6.

12. Now tab to "Add..." and press Enter.

13. You can use this dialogue to type in an exact path such as
c:\Documents\Phone numbers.txt and press enter, or you can use this dialogue
to manually find and select the file on your desktop.

14. After the file has been saved to your iOS device press shift+Tab to
insure the file has been placed in the list of files associated with the
app.

15. This is a very important step, tab to the "sync button" and press the
spacebar to complete the sync. ITunes will normally play a sound when the
process has completed.

16. The file(s) should now be on your iDevice.

17. Now that you are finished, you can press Alt+F4 to close iTunes.

Yes, I do agree that this tutorial is wordy, but I wanted to be thrurough.
<Smile>.

Oh yeah, don't forget that you can also look for iDevice related files in
the following folder(s):
C:\Users\[your name]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\

Please let me know if you have any problems at all.

Joseph the free tech guy!

There was a comment in an e-mail delivered to this list a day or so ago
suggesting that OOTunes recording files could be brought onto a PC by using the BackUp feature in iTunes. What I presume this means that after making a recording via OOTunes, doing a backup of the iPhone to the PC will bring the file(s) along into the back-up folders. Where the dang is that folder on a
Windows PC?
