I use a Reminders list called work. That way, I can tell Siri to "add check in on the new project to my work list" and the reminder "check in on the new project" is added to my work list. I have a Mac, but you can use iCloud.com to manage reminders from anywhere. Of course, there are tons of cross-platform reminders apps; I stick with the built-in one because it has full Siri support and is pre-installed and ready to go on any Mac or iOS device I care to use.
