Yes, the double-tap and hold works on webpages, but it doesn't seem to work as you described it when using VDR and SendSpace.
Either way, I suggest iOS users use Dropbox or iTunes and alike to copy files on to their idevices as using VLC to copy SendSpace content is needlessly confusing and time consuming. I guess I'm trying to convey that there are easier ways of accomplishing the same task.
