Yes, and it would not work at all once the reader is plugged in. I found that the easiest way to handle it was to plug it in to swipe, then unplug it to get speech back.
I’d love to know if anyone has been successful with a splitter or with Bluetooth. I found that they did not work for me. If you have silence when you unplug the reader, you will know that the swipe was successful and you are at the signature screen. After signing, you wait until you hear it was successful. Before that, there is no speech. I will get used to it eventually. So, it does work, just has a few quirks.
