Hi Bill,

I don't think you can and I don't think the Voice memo app allows you to
edit any audio files created on a different device.
It is possible you might be able to do this with Garage Band, but I'm no
expert on that app so maybe somebody else who does more with audio files and
audio editing can expand on this.

Can anybody on this list advise me as to whether or not an M4A file that has
been sent to my iPhone via messaging can be accessible via VoiceMemo?

I have a friend who sent me a VoiceMemo created M4A file by way of the
messaging SHARE feature of VoiceMemo, but I can't figure out how to make
this audio file accessible via the VoiceMemo app on my iPhone so I can trim
out some of the extraneous sound (i.e., VoiceOver being heard on the
recording at the end).
