Reminders and alerts are more or less the same to me. That's one of the
reasons I don't' even bother with the Outlook calendar anymore. I just go
off my phone and the alerts I set there or on the Google Calendar site
itself. There are only so many ways I need to access the exact information
before it becomes unnecesary.

If you want to set a universal alert on your iOS device for all new apps, go
into the settings, mail section and go down to the calendar part. I don't
recall the exact layout, but you'll see an alerts option there and decide
among the options presented to you.

You can also choose to adjust or not have any alert from within an app by
editting the desired appointment and clicking through on the alerts option.
None, two days before, day of appointment, etc.

I'll give the web interface another look. I'm open to using the website but
always appreciated of having it all centralized in my Outlook, especially
with the ability to set reminders.

On a related point, how do I get my iPhone to give alerts for upcoming
appointments?

Thanks again!

Someone on another iPhone list had this same question and below is what I
replied.

Check this out:

ith-outlook/

I actually find the Google Calendar webpage pretty accessible (using Jaws).
Just have the layout set to agenda view and everything's right there. I'm a
heavy user of Google Calendar and don't' even bother with Outlook's calendar
any more. It's syncs quite nicely to my iOS devices and I just have the
Google calendar webpage pinned to my favorites bar in my browser as well as
a short cut on my desktop.

Of course different strokes for different folks, but even then, it's easy
enough to creat and edit apps from iOS and have them sync to the calendar as
well with the native app.

Hi, I've been using Google Calendar Sync to keep my Google Calendar and
Outlook synchronized. That, to me, is a lot easier to view appointments in
my iPhone. It seems this service is going away. Has anyone found any good
alternatives to communicate between Outlook and Google for appointments?
iCloud, unfortunately, is not an option as I need to be able to synchronize
appointments with other Google users. Besides, I'm not sure that iCloud lets
you share Calendar info the way Google does. Thanks in advance for any help.
