Hi,

My previous post included how to add tones to your library and sync them,
but it was primarily a small tutorial about how to make a ringtone from one
of your songs with iTunes. Anyhow, below is how you would add a tone to the
iTunes library and then sync it. I have, however, not yet figured out how
you actually get the ringtones from this 1500 Unlimited Ringtones app into
the file sharing area of iTunes. I bought the app for 99 Cents and checked
out a bunch of tones, but while I can play them, I don't see anything else
you can do and from listening to the video they have in the Help section it
would appear that apart from listening to the ringtones in the app there
isn't much else you can do with it.

I was disappointed that in order to get the free tone each day you have to
first of all rate the app, then you have to like them on Facebook and refer
the app to a friend and I believe there might have even been a fourth
condition. Definitely way too much trouble.

I must also say that out of a few dozen ringtones I listened to I would
maybe and I say maybe put 1 or 2 on my phone, the rest are in my opinion
worthless and I doubt I keep this app on my phone. I much prefer to make my
own out of songs and I would probably want to disappear into the ground from
embarrassment if my phone started to play most of these ringtones.

Anyhow, here is the part from when you actually do see the rintones in the
file sharing area:

1. Plug in your phone, go to it and check the Apps radio button.
2. Now tab about 25 or so times until you get to file sharing. There will be
a list of apps and "Unlimited" as it is called will be one of them.
3. Select Unlimited and tab once, this takes you to the Documents list view
and here you should see all your ringtones. As I said, this currently is not
the case for me. Anyhow, if you do have any ringtones here, select the one
you want, then tab twice to "Save As" and press spacebar or enter.
4. A standard Windows "Save As" dialogue box opens, browse to the folder
where you want to save your ringtones and then tab to the "Save" button and
activate it. I would recommend that you make a folder called "Unlimited" or
something like that in your iTunes Media folder and save all the tones from
this app in there.
5. Once all the tones you want are saved in the Unlimited folder, go back
to iTunes and select "Add Folder to Library" from the File menu. Browse to
your folder where you saved the ringtones and click on "Select". This will
add all the tones to your tones library and all you have to do now is sync
them to your phone.
6. Go back to your phone under devices and tab to the Tones radio button
and check it.
7. Tab a bunch of times and make sure you have checked to sync tones. Just
as with other media such as music or books you can select to "Sync All
Tones" or to "Sync Selected Tones". If you check to sync all tones then all
you have to do is tab to the Sync or Apply button and activate it. If you
choose to sync selected tones, you have to tab until you find your list view
of tones, then you can arrow down that list and check the ones you want.
When you are done tab to Sync or Apply and activate it. That's it.

Maybe somebody else can figure out how to get the tones to show up in the
file sharing area, if not I will try to figure it out, but I don't have a
lot of time to do so right now.

Regards,
Sieghard
