In the meantime, a work around is the following. When you are playing a
bard book, and the headphone controller starts something else when you press
stop, the bard controls still are on the screen. Hit play, and whatever the
headphone controller started will stop, and your book will start playing
again. The headphone controller then will function with the bard app. This
works most of the time.

play/pause from outside of the app. If I use headphones, or a headset, I end
up playing music instead of pausing my book. :(
