Take a look at www.icalworld.com . This was originally brought to my attention in a post by Christopher Chalton. I found it in the archive. I believe you can link any of these calendars to your iPhone calendar.

I did as you suggested and found a free app called 24-7 Football, which mainly has news and schedules for NFL teams. The app is pretty accessible from what I can find, except for one unlabeled button in the bottom right corner. Once you start the app you are asked to pick your team. After you do this, when swiping to the right from the top of the screen, there are News and Schedule buttons, with whichever one you are looking at being selected. To switch to a different team, you double tap that unlabeled button in the bottom right, and are presented with a list of all teams, a done button, and so forth. Double tap the team or teams you want and then hit done. I have only selected 1 at a time so far, but I suppose you could select more than 1 if you wanted to keep up with multiple teams. I don't know how that information would be displayed though. Also, the app can alert you with push notifications before each of your team's games, either an hour or 15 minutes before. I've put all of my team's games in my calendar already, but that push notice is good to have as well. One more thing, the schedules look to be for last year at this point; hopefully they will update that by the start of the season. This wasn't what I was looking for but it is a good way to stay updated on what's going on with your team or teams of choice.
