I think the difference may be that the pro/paid version allows you to create an account and have your favorites automatically show up if you install it on another device.
I'm not completely sure about that. I bought the pro version early on and don't recall now exactly why. Are the descriptions the same for each version in the app store? That is where I usually look to see what the difference is.
