Unless things have changed, I also think you are able to hear the voices through VDR before purchasing.

Some people will say Neospeech Kate is good, others that Ivona has the best voices. Some might even stick up for A Capella, though I can't imagine how. The nice thing is that all these voices have online demo pages on the manufacturers' websites, so you can test them out before making a purchase in VDR.
