I see what he's saying; I think there's a miscommunication here. He's saying 
that iCloud backs up the VDR database, like it backs up data for all apps, so 
if you restore, that database comes back. This is far different from syncing, 
however. With syncing, if you download a book on your iPad, that book appears 
on all your other devices; if you read a couple chapters in a book on your 
phone, your iPod Touch will start reading from that new position; if you add a 
few words to your pronunciation dictionary on the iPod, the same words are 
added to your iPhone and iPad; you get the idea. This, it seems, is what VDR 
does not do at all for the moment.
