I wouldn't jump to that conclusion with your braille displays. As Kelly says, products can be delayed for many reasons. How many times have we had discussions on this list wishing Apple had postponed a release of IOS a bit to get more accessibility related bugs fixed. There could be something catastrophically wrong with the product, but it could also just be poor planning, needing more time to get some bugs fixed or marketing material ready or any other number of issues that crop up close to the release of a product that ultimately have nothing to do with the quality of the product. As Kelly says, the lack of customer satisfaction or confidence when a release date is missed is why companies just wait as long as they can to announce a product so most of these issues can be found and ironed out prior to the announce date, let alone the release date.

Yep, am watching that very thing happen with varioultra braille displays. they
announced the end of july, now they are saying mid-september, doesn't bode well
for the product.

This is why companies don't announce technology until it is almost
ready to ship. If they blow a deadline, confidence in the product is
lost. Many factors are out of a company's control.
