I would recommend before you make a final choice that you visit a Bose store and audition the Bose Sound Dock 10. The sound dock 10 has excellent sound quality and is made to play mp3 files etc of 128 KBPS. It can handle a Bluetooth adaptor as well. Mine is several years old so they have probably come out with a newer model. My sound dock is a bit heavy at about 30 pounds and no, it does not run on batteries. It does come with a remote control which is accessible. There are 10 round buttons on the remote which can be felt.

If you get the sound link you will want to set it in front of a wall. It
has rear speakers which reflects off of whatever flat surface is behind it
and makes that like a speaker.

Subject: UE Boom VS Bose soundlink mini

I imagine plenty of iDevice users on here may have come across these
speakers. I'm hoping some of you own them. :)

I'm debating between the 2.

The ue boom is winning in the features category. 2 devices being connected
at the same time is a big plus in my book!
The sound notifications are nice & subtle. Speaker phone is great, & down
the road possibly creating a stereo pair is cool!

However, the Bose may be winning in the sound quality. Especially for this
household's needs. We want this speaker for our living room. In fact I'll
probably put it near the tv which is kind of the center of the room. We
don't tend to blast our music, but I do want rich, full sound. Classical &
jazz are the 2 biggest players. Followed up by country, rock, & oldies.

Do y'all have any guidance here? I continuously read about loud volumes,
but what about for the quiet moments? How do either of these speakers stack
up to quiet sound?

BTW, I could toss in the ue boom mini, but I wasn't sure if it was in the
same league as the other 2.

Thanks so much,
Traci
