Hi David.

It sounds interesting, and I do thing it would be best for most blind children
with a large screen, but I am not sure, it will be that for all children. I
will try to illustrate it with an experience I had as a child. Do you remember
these very large watches we had to use for learning the clock? It was something
like a plate in size, and I should learn the clock on such a big device or what
we should call it I do not know. I had really difficulties everybody thought I
was stupid, and they scolded at me, and I got more and more nervous. In the end
it was nearly decided that I could not learn the clock. I was really sad. My
mother took a decition and she gave me a small tactile watch, I think it took
about two or three days and I was able to figure out what time it was. It is
maybe not the same story with smaller and bigger devices, but I think more
people than me has experienced something like that.

I had an IPad 2 the screen was in fact to large for me, but I think if there
will be a 5.5 inch screen out that I will go for it, mainly because it could
give some advantages when reading and also e.g. with ariadne, if you have to
figure out some details in a card on the screen, you can't see it but you can
sometimes get an idea where am I and where do I have to go. I am using braille
most of the time, so the screen size would maybe not be that important, except
when moving apps, this is truly a challenging task at the moment.

Lastly I will have to say that I think blind childrens visual skills are better
today, than they were when I was a child.

Best regards Annie.
