Dan, I'd bet my bottom dollar that, if its random, the problem is in the WiFi connection. The only way I could fix mine was to call my provider and have them remotely put me on another channel which is less common. I'm not sure because it was over a year ago but I think the common one is channel 4 and they switched me to channel 1, I believe, or something like that.
