Hi John, I find it interesting how perception can fool us. You said the 6 felt lighter than the 5S. It's actually not, but the difference is so small that it's probably almost impossible to tell by feel. According to Apple the weights are as follows:
iPhone 5S: 112 grams (3.95 ounces) iPhone 6: 129 g (4.55 ounces) That difference of 17 grams is very negligible, probably about the same as 4 or so cubes of sugar.
