Hi Rob, I do mention the iPad in my message and said that it will probably work just fine and that the processor is actually better than that of the iPod Touch. However, there are still 3 differences which will probably have an impact on how well KNFB Reader performs:
1. Even the iPad Mini Retina and the iPad Air (the newest at this time) still have only a 5 MP camera just like the iPod Touch. 2. They do not have a flash which means you need really good external lighting 3. None of these devices have vibration which means the tilt control feature will not work. I would also think that especially a full-sized iPad would be a lot harder to hold properly and in the right position due to the weight and size. KNFB officially says it works pon the iPhone 5 and up, but several people on the list have reported that it works just as good if a bit slower on an iPhone 4S. This is of course only logical since especially between the 4S and the 5 there is very little difference in the camera. Even the difference between the 4S camera and the iPhone 6 camera is not that much, same 8 MP, 6 has a sensor with larger pixels which is good but probably not crutial for OCR and the flash on the 5S and 6 is a true tone flash which yields better colour rendering in low light, once again, not something I would think makes a great difference when it comes to lighting up a page of text. The app, in fact, even works on the iPod Touch Fifth Gen although if that is your only device you definitely may want to think twice about spending that much since the iPod has no vibration so the tilt control would not work and you wouldn't benefit fully from the features of the app. It is my assumption that it would work just as well or even better on Ed's iPad Fourth Gen since it has an A6 processor which is a generation better than that of the iPod Touch, but it still only has a 5 MP camera just like the iPod Touch and no vibration.
