I’m fine using touch typing everywhere. I currently have touch typing on for text entry. It is not working for the numeric keypad though. Did I miss some setting that says set as default?

You have to use touch typing on the whole thing if you're going to use it on the keypad. There's no way to set it for the keypad only.
