I haven't used one with Digit Eyes and the ones available are very expensive (several hundred Dollars I believe) but it would most definitely be super efficient. I own a retail business and we use USB barcode scanners and they are very fast and easy to use. You can swipe it across one side of a package very quickly and from a foot or so away and if there is a barcode anywhere it will usually pick it up. It's not like with the iPhone camera which needs to focus and so on and good lighting is not a big deal either.
