Hi Joe,

The iPhone is more robust than you think, but it totally depends on how it
lands if you drop it. It's a bit like people who step on a small curb or
slip on a bit of ice and end up with a compound fracture of their ankle.
Others fall out of a third floor window OR end up in a car accident where
the car is completely totaled and walk away with a few scratches.

I once pushed my iPhone 4S off a 3 and a half foot high counter in my store
and I pushed it with considerable force. It flew through the air, landed on
a tile floor where the tiles were installed on concrete and it skittered
across the floor for 6 feet and it didn't have a scratch on it. Another
story I heard from Rob of the Today in iOS podcast was that he dropped his
iPhone in an airplane, maybe 2 feet and it landed touch screen down on the
bolt which holds the seat in front of you in place and the screen shaddered.
All one can do is be careful, put it in a good case if you are worried (or
clumsy) and hope for the best.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hi there,
Take it easy folks, It was a mataphorical tractor.
Just to underline the point, badly it seems, so far, I do like strong
robust devices that are small portable and expensive. So if I drop my
Iphone stupid I know, nobody ever ever drops there Iphone, but when I do,
I want it to survive at least one drop between fitting a substantial
case for it's protection, and the arrival of the tractor.

Particularly considering the shape of the Iphone6, feeling more like the
IPhone 3, it is A visually nice shape, but slippery as an eal..

And yes, six hundred odd pounds is a lot of cash to find for me, Us
tractor drivers don't earn as much as bus drivers.

Now I am off to the hay barn.

cheers,

JP

Sure, tried it with my nephew's toy John Deer and my 5S handle it just fine.
Joking aside, just because a delicate piece of technology is expensive does
not mean it stands up to any abuse. David's example is a good one. I can buy
a $400 laptop or a $1,200 laptop and both are equally breakable. I can also
go out and buy a special purpose ruggedized laptop for $4,000 and that will
stand up to quite a lot of abuse and drops, but I doubt even that would
stand up to a tractor (a full-size one) being driven over it. Probably not
the best conclusion, Joe *smile*.

at a cost of 600 odd pounds, you should be able to drive a tractor over
it.smile..

Not recommended, that is how some got bent.
What's wrong with shirt or jacket pocket?
An inside wallet pocket is ideal, as they're about the same size. Put your
wallet in your pants pocket if you like, keep all your cards and money safe
there, where it doesn't matter about getting bent so much.

I need to find out, since I usually carry my phone in my pocket can I easily

fit the iPhone six or 6+ in my pocket of my jeans/pants?
