John,

Yes, they can be used in the oven as long as you can route the probe wire
outside the oven. The actual iGrill unit cannot withstand temperatures
inside the oven, but the probes can.

I see that there are three choices apparently now from iDevices--the iGrill
2, a Mini iGrill, and the iDevices kitchen thermometer. They all appear to
function on the same principle.

If you have any doubts or concerns, you could always try the MiniGrill.
When I'm grilling, I often use just one probe on my iGrill. The only time I
use two probes is if I'm doing something large and thicker, like smoking a
ham or grilling prime rib. The mini only has the capability to use one
probe. I think the Mini also uses a coin-cell battery which to me is a bit
more of a disadvantage.

I have seen some of the negative reviews on Amazon. I think a lot of them
have to do with the quality of the probes particularly on the Kitchen
Thermometer. I will say that I rather doubt the 150-foot claim for the
bluetooth range, although I have had no drop-outs in my experience, although
I don't have a huge lot and the grill is only about fifteen feet from the
back door. But, I have been at the other end of the house, and the range is
definitely longer than the standard 10 meters for normal bluetooth.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
