Since I did not use iTunes to upgrade and since I went from IOS7 to 8.02 and then to 8.1, I figured I lost some disk space. So I ran I Clean now Kruptis. When the process completed, the resulting summary stated that I had gained an additional 102 MB of storage. Hopefully, I am at least close to what I would have had if I had done an iTunes upgrade. On another topic, our son who does not use VoiceOver was complaining about his upgrade to version 8. don't know which release he had, but 8.1 has made him a happier camper, so it would appear that non-VoiceOver users also benefitted from the latest IOS release.
