Hi Fanus,
Once you type "jimmy rodgers" and all the search results are displayed, you should be able to navigate by headings to find the various sections. I can't remember if this was exactly like this in iTunes 11 since I already installed iTunes 12, but in iTunes 12 I just typed in "Jimmy Rodgers" in the "search library" field. Instead of enter I then did a Control+Enter which loads and searches the iTunes store instead of just your own library. Once I hear the sound it makes when it's done and I go to the very top I see this: Showing results for " Jimmy Rodgers" Then if I arrow down the first heading I get to is Songs, it's a heading level 3. Underneath that is a link for "Show All" and then I get into a table which lists all the songs it found. In my store (could be different for you) Jaws says the table has 7 columns and 95 rows. The first row has the 7 column headings: First column is blank, it has the numbers for each song. The other six are name, artist, album, time, popularity and price. You can use table navigation to move around the table, in Jaws either use Alt+Control+Arrow keys to go left, right, up or down. You can also turn on table navigation mode with the layered key stroke Jaws Key+Spacebar followed by a T and then just use the arrows. If you want to check out entire albums instead of just songs jump to the next heading either by typing a "3" since all the headings are heading level 3 or you can also use the quick nav key "h" for heading. You could also use Jaws Key+6 to pull up all headings on the page into a listview. You have the following: Songs, Albums, Movies, Podcast Episodes, Podcasts and Artists and More. In the table of song titles under name you have the following elements (I am using the first table entry as an example which is the song "Honeycomb" and how Jaws announces this: Description: Preview Honeycomb button - if you press enter or spacebar on this the song will start playing and the "preview Honeycomb button" will turn into a :"Pause Honeycomb button". If you arrow down the next thing Jaws announces is "graphic Description: undefined. I have no idea what this means, probably nothing really. Arrow down again and you get again to the title just by itself "Honeycomb". Next when you arrow down comes "Jimmy Rodgers" that would be under the artist heading and it's a link so you can probably read more about him. Next comes "Sweet Sounds of Country, Vol. 3" under the album heading and again it's a link so you can probably go into that and see all the titles on this album which sounds like a various artists type compellation album. Arrow down again and you get "2:17" that is under the Time heading and is the length of the track Honeycomb. Finally if you arrow down again you come to the price for that track which is a button, in this case and in the Canadian store it says $0.99 button. The last element before you come to "2" and the next title is the combo box which allows you to do the following: Gift that song, Add to Wish List, Tell a Friend, Share on Twitter, Share on Facebook and Copy Link Good luck, Sieghard From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Fanus Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2014 1:51 AM To: [email protected] Subject: iTunes search problem Hello list Is there a way to do a specific search in iTunes i.e. I want to search for songs by jimmy rodgers but if I type that name I get all sorts of results, so can I use quotes or other limiters to search more specific?
