Hi Lori,
Have you used Skype on the computer? Basically you can do the same things, for example, you can talk to other Skype users either via audio or you can do video calls and that is always free except of course if you do it via 3G or LTE in which case it will use up data from your data plan. If you are on WiFi then it just goes via your home internet just as if you were using Skype on the computer. You can also send instant messages to other Skype users and you can share files. For example today a friend called me from Germany and I wanted him to look at a picture I had of 5 Mule Deer in my garden so I just sent it to him via Skype while we were talking. You can also use Skype to call regular landlines and mobiles or to send SMS messages, but for that you will have to either buy Skype credit which is used on a per call or per message bases or you would have to buy one of their plans. If you were to buy a plan for unlimited phone calls to landlines and mobiles covering the United States and Canada then that would cost you $2.95 a month or you can prepay for an entire year and get I think a 15% discount. For the Unlimited North America plan it works out to I think just over $30 per year. Hi Sieghard, How does skipe work on my iPhone 5? When I use skipe on my iPhone, will I get charged for using skipe or what? What kinds of things can you do when using skipe? I just downloaded skipe on my iPhone 5 since it is free. Take care. Lori and the Gipper -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
