Hi Marie,
iOS 8 runs just as well on a 5S as it does on a 6 or 6 Plus. The new A8 processor in those phones is faster than the A7, but not actually by a lot especially not when it comes to normal day-to-day stuff and the difference is not nearly as pronounced as it was last year when the A7 was introduced. The A7 is already a 64 Bit processor and apart from the new iPad Air 2 which now has 2 Gb of RAM, all other new iOS devices released this fall including the 6 and 6 Plus still have 1 Gb just as the 5S. One very nice feature of iOS 8 is what Apple calls Continuity and the new hand off feature, but that of course only really benefits people who have multiple iOS devices running iOS 8 or people who want to work seamlessly on their Mac running OSX Yosemite and their iPhone or iPad running iOS 8. Another nice new feature is the ability to send audio messages to other iOS users who have iOS 8 installed and iMessage enabled. There are also many other new features which have all been discussed at various times over the last 6 weeks or so, but how much you would benefit from them all depends on how much of a power user you are and whether some of the new features are important to you. The iOS 8.1 update has fixed some annoying bugs, but some still persist. Regards, Sieghard From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of M.Nelson Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2014 8:54 AM To: [email protected] Subject: IOS 8.1 on IPhone 6 I am wondering if the problems being encountered with the new IOS is as pronounced on the new IPhone as opposed to the older models? I have a 5S and have not yet upgraded to the new IOS. Until some of the worse bugs are fixed I am sticking to 7. Normally I upgrade within the first week of a new release but I have not heard of enough advantages to make it worth the frustration. Am I wrong in this assumption? I think perhaps this version needs the higher processing capabilities of the newer IPhone. Marie _____ <http://www.avast.com/> This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
