I will say that the volume controls buttons on the iPhone 6 Otterbox Defender case have taken a bit of getting used to, more than the iPhone 5. In my humble opinion, the 5 Otterbox case was easier to use for the volume and for plugging in the phone to charge. Things have gradually gotten easier for me over the month I've had my phone and case, and they will hopefully continue to get better. However, getting a good firm and hard press on the volume buttons or on the power/wake button does take more doing with the iPhone 6 case, and it sounds like perhaps for the 6 Plus case too. Those with dexterity issues or trouble gripping things may have trouble. If you do struggle with gripping, I would encourage you to take a look at one and see if you can try it before buying.
