I am not saying somebody hasn't figured this out, but I don't think this is
information Apple provides officially. You might want to check the iFixIt
tear-down articles for the iPhone 5S, 6 and 6 Plus as they do sometimes say
what they find where.

In any case, the iPhone is so thin that I don't think it makes a difference as
to how you put it in your pocket. One thing you will probably find is that GPS
reception may be slightly better if you have the phone in a case with belt loop
or if you kept it in some sort of case/pouch around your neck. Your body
primarily consists of water and that can act as a block. All you have to do to
test this is use a bluetooth speaker or headset and play some music or an audio
book, then clamp your phone under your armpit and you'll find your stream will
start to cut out.

Sieghard

Subject: Where is the GPS receiver on iPhone 5?

Hi,

When looking at the screen with home button pointing downwards, is the GPS
receiver to the left, right of the home button or to the left right of the
volume buttons?

Where is the receiver on the iPhone 6?

Take care
