No, you can’t read anything in the read only fields either with the PC or Jaws
cursor.

There are only 2 work-around I can think of:

You can select the “Show in Windows Explorer” option from the context menu of a
song which would take you to the folder where the album is stored where you can
read the track titles or you could manually go into your iTunes Media/Music
folder and find the artist, album and songs.

Alternatively, you can go into Get Info, then press spacebar or enter on
Details and tab until you get to Song Title, Artist, Album and so on. After
each of these if you tab one more time you are on another field which is
announced as a read only field and which contains the information. If at this
point you route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor and do a left mouse click you
are in Edit mode for that field. If, for example you want the artist name for
spelling reasons, do the following:

Use Control+I for Get Info

Tab to the Details button and activate it with spacebar or enter

Tab past all the other buttons and you will first get to Song Title. Tab again
and you will hear the song title.

Tab again and you are on Artist, tab once more and you hear the artist name
followed by “read only”.

Now route Jaws to PC and to a left mouse click (NumPad Slash)

Now Jaws will go into Edit mode in that field. You can use Home to get to the
start of the field and arrow across the artist name or you can use Control+A
for select all and then control+c to copy the information to the clipboard so
you can paste it elsewhere.

Be careful not to change or delete anything, I recommend to press escape twice
to close this without changing the ID3 tag information accidently.

Regards,

Sieghard

If you're looking at things in the Get Info screen, you should just be able to
use regular commands that moved by character/word, etc. to read things like
track name, artist name, etc.

Thanks,

Ari

I appreciate your input, even though I cannot get the first to work. Jaws
reads everything fine but I can't get anything spelt out. (Perhaps someone
knows the keystroke to do this). Jaws cursor appears no help to read anything
so at present I need to read the item via the PC cursor.

Thanks for the explanation of item No 2. This is clear now.

I'm happy enough on the third to accept, as with another user, that I just have
to tab a few times to the right spot and that's no real big deal since I don't
have too many columns showing at any one time.

OK, two down and one to go!

Could I ask just one more thing, please, because I forgot before. I realise I
cannot select items because I don't get the keystroke I am supposed to use in
the list of keystrokes given in Help and, anyway, good old Jaws isn't telling
me what's selected, apart from if I do all or nothing so I'm playing without
success on selecting just a few items.! <Smiles>

Hi!

OK If I get some of the key presses wrong someone [I hope ] will correct me!

1st when on a track you wish to find out about use your Applications key and go
to the Get info option and select it!

Then pick the details option and you should be able to go the different options
like song title, Artist and album title!

And hopefully be able to see how they are written!

2nd Those 2 options are 1 will remove the track from iTunes but leave the
actual MP3 or which ever format the track is in! the main iTunes folder in your
home directory!

The other option will remove the whole thing to the trash and if you empty the
trash that track will be gone!

Sorry no help on the 3rd!

Hi all,

First, I'm determined to do the bestI can with iTunes 12, so no moaning from
me! <Smiles>

I have a few of questions though, please:

The first isan iTunes/possible Jaws problem: I have ripped some CD's and
wanted to export these to my "safe, away from iTunes) place for other use. I
needed to create folders where the music resides onto that disc and, to do
this, had to check the way the title of an album was actually written. I found
that I couldn't get any joy from attempting to route Jaws (or PC cursor so that
I could read the title, together with punctuation etc. Is this a Jaws issue
with my laptop or not possible to check iniTunes at present?

Second, I don't understand the options given when you delete a track iniTunes.
The option is whether or not to send it to the recycle bin or ... (can't
remember exactly what it says). If anyone can clarify what happens in each
option I'd be grateful.

I would just say that I can't find an option for getting directly toyour
iPad/pod etc when sorting out sync options. (I know someone else was wanting
this option.) Does anyone else think it would be very useful if they'd add a
keystroke here, or is there a quick way to do this that I'm missing?

Think that will do for now. Thanks for any help with these.

Carol P
