Hi Linda, Did you try it with a headset? Chances are the volume dropped to 0 so you can see if Voiceover works with a headset. If so then put focus at the top of your home screen, unplug he headset and start Voiceover reading continuously with a 2-finger swipe up. Now repeatedly push the volume up button and see if you can start to hear Voiceover.

I received the message that "find my Ipad must be turned off." Went to I cloud to turn it off. The Ipad is not listed as a device. To my knowledge, I never turned on find my Ipad. I have also tried holding in the home button along with the power switch.BTW, Itunes does recognize the mini as being connected. When I looked at the configuration for voice over, vo was not checked.
