Hi John,

Can you elaborate on that? Do you mean you can do better with a traditional
bookshelf or tower speaker which of course then requires a receiver or
amplifier and cables or with another powered speaker either wired or wireless?
I have been buying and listening to high-end audio for 25 years and I really
mean high-end as in $10 to $15 thousand speakers and $2,000 to $10,000
receivers, Class A or tube amplifiers. Of course a $20,000 or $30,000 system
will sound better than a $900 Sonos setup, but I believe the thread started as
somebody looking for a wireless high quality system and here there is not much
which will beat Sonos with respect to what you get for what you pay in terms of
sound quality and features. Maybe you have some examples for product in the
$900, $1,200 and $1,500 price point which sounds better than what you would get
for this price from Sonos which would be a Sonos Sub along with either a pair
of Play 1, Play 3 or Play 5 speakers.
I don't even compare this with any Bluetooth speaker because Bluetooth does not
have the bandwidth nor the responsiveness to be classified as high-end.

Regards,
sieghard

Sonos are decent but as just a speaker you can get much better for your money.
What makes them good is their connectivity.
