I'm fairly sure that the battery not running down is a feature, not a bug. I've always heard that Li/ion batteries function best when there is not a full charge or discharge. Mileage varies, of course. I don't mind having a bit of juice left. I don't want to lose data.
Carol, I do like that feature. I don't often get down that low, but when I start charging it and there's no tone when I plug it in, I don't worry about it.
